UNESA publishes annual Sustainability and SDGs Reports

Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) publishes a sustainability report every year: its SDGs Report 2024 and Sustainability Report 2024 were followed by the 2025 UNESA SDGs Report, each published as a public document on the UNESA SDGs Center website (Universitas Negeri Surabaya, 2024a; Universitas Negeri Surabaya, 2024b; Universitas Negeri Surabaya, 2025). The reports cover UNESA's work on all 17 Sustainable Development Goals and its campus environmental performance in energy, waste, water and transport.

Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) published its 2024 SDGs Report, a 101-page document dated November 2024 with a chapter for each of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, opening with UNESA's scholarships for low-income students under SDG 1 (Universitas Negeri Surabaya, 2024a).

UNESA published a Sustainability Report for 2024 setting out its campus sustainability profile: setting and infrastructure (five campus sites, 949,314 square metres, more than 90 percent open space), energy and climate change, waste, water, transportation, and education and research, including the share of the university budget spent on sustainability (22.67 percent) (Universitas Negeri Surabaya, 2024b).

UNESA published its 2025 SDGs Report, a 30-page edition dated November 2025 opened by Rector Nurhasan, which reports how UNESA's faculties, centres and student organisations advanced the 17 SDGs during 2025 and describes the report as both a record of progress and a roadmap for the years ahead (Universitas Negeri Surabaya, 2025).

This annual reporting practice demonstrates that sustainability is not treated as a one-time initiative but as an ongoing institutional commitment supported by systematic documentation and public disclosure. By publishing sustainability and SDGs reports through its official website, UNESA promotes transparency, accountability, and accessibility of sustainability information to students, staff, government, partners, and the general public.
