Providing housing directly

Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) provides student housing directly through Rusunawa Unesa (Rumah Susun Sederhana Sewa, a low-cost rental flat block) on its Ketintang campus, run by the university's dormitory management unit at asrama.unesa.ac.id (Unit Pengelola Rusunawa, 2026a).

The complex has four buildings, A, B, C and D. Buildings A and B each have five floors and 96 rooms and are reserved for female students; Building C has five floors and 48 rooms, and Building D has three floors and 43 rooms, both reserved for male students, a total of 283 rooms, each shared by up to four students (Unit Pengelola Rusunawa, 2026a). Each room is furnished with bunk beds, four study desks and chairs, four wardrobes, a fan and limited electricity, and the complex has a lobby, multipurpose room, prayer room, canteen, 24-hour wifi, car and motorbike parking, a laundry and drying area, and an on-site management office (Unit Pengelola Rusunawa, 2026a).

UNESA charges students affordable monthly rents for Rusunawa rooms: IDR 350,000 per student on the 2nd floor, IDR 300,000 on the 3rd floor, IDR 250,000 on the 4th floor and IDR 200,000 on the 5th floor for standard rooms, or IDR 1,800,000 a month per air-conditioned room shared by up to four students, which is IDR 450,000 per student. Rent is paid only through a dedicated virtual-account system, not in cash or to a personal account (Unit Pengelola Rusunawa, 2026b).

The housing is provided university-wide to UNESA students, not to one faculty, and the rate and facility pages were current when checked on 26 September 2026.
